When you are not covered by the FMLA act? What options do you have?

I have a severly autistic teen. My teen has taken a turn for the worse. I had to baker act him once in the beginning of this year. After he came back home he seemed to be doing extremely well. I changed his diet, meds, and started ABA therapy and it worked. Until out of nowhere he took a turn for the worst and I had to baker act him again due to his aggressive and violent behavior. Now it looks like childcare will be impossible. I work for a very small company and I want to request a family leave of absence but I will not be covered by the FMLA act. What options do I have to hold on to my job and request time off to get my teen under control.
