How to know if he loved me.. guys?

I've been played before, but this guy I was seeing would look at me and tell me how beautiful I was, he would listen to me when I asked him to do somethng for me, he reminded me all the time how amazing I am, and he told me he missed me every day.. Now, he won't even talk to me.. and one of his guy friends that is also my friend told me that he said he didn't like me, I got upset with him, and he won't talk to me anymore.. I know tht I really meant a lot to him before, what happened? did he just lose interest in me or what?
