Older people, esp guys, am I just a fwb to him?

If you are happy with this limited type of relationship then it is fine. I get the idea though that you would like more from a relationship than this is giving you. It sounds like you only spend week-ends together and it is more or less arranged that way. Doesn't sound very spontaneous or exciting though; then again if this suits you then so be it. He may assume (wrongly or rightly) that this is the limit of the relationship. It seems obvious you both like each other very much and he does pay attention to what you have to say, and he is making some effort. Only you can decide if you are content with this type of arrangement. Do you ever go out somewhere nice for the week-end; a meal, movie, a real date? Does he take you out with friends so you get the opportunity to socialise a bit more? What else does he do on week-ends? Do you share any other interests? Perhaps you should be making a few suggestions and see what type of response you get.
